Typical use cases

Monitoring the temperature of the material storage and the temperature at the point of use of the material is very important for many production processes. The plastics industry is an example. Plastic injections sometimes contain porosity. This is often caused by moisture occurring in the input material. If the storage area is cooler than the injection molding site at certain times, then water can condense on the granulate after the material has been transported to the injection molding site, resulting in subsequent porosity in the manufactured products. Without long-term monitoring of temperature and humidity, it is very difficult to detect these relationships.

Medicine storage requires strict conditions and constant monitoring of the environment where the medicines are stored. If there is a significant change in temperature or humidity, this should be reported immediately. Storage areas are often very large, and therefore, many sensors are needed to cover the entire measurement area correctly.

Over the last twenty years, the average temperature on the ground has been rising very rapidly, and there are more extreme temperatures in both summer and winter. When the air conditioning in a hospital room that maintains consistent conditions for the patient fails, there is a high risk of complications for the patient.
