CHESTER platform
TELTONIKA BLE tags
HARDWARIO is committed to the sustainable improvement of the Earth's living conditions through digitalization and IoT technologies. Its modular CHESTER platform is designed to operate in harsh climatic conditions almost anywhere in the world.
IFRAMIX is a Czech company and a member of the leading French group CCPA, which provides consulting services for livestock farmers and compound feed manufacturers. Its success is based on long-term research and continuous development of new natural products that reduce the amount of drugs used and maintain excellent animal health. One of its current themes is preventing animal stress caused, for example, by inappropriate temperature and humidity in livestock housing. Particularly in summer, farmers can suffer large economic losses as a result. IFRAMIX, therefore, also offers data services for farmers as an extension.
We want to enable farmers to measure the conditions in which their animals live. Stress on animals caused by unsuitable conditions in the barn can negatively affect not only their health but also the farm's economy.
The device needs to be wireless and have a long battery life so that farmers can move it around as needed.
Communication must be universal and work in areas without standard LTE network coverage.
The device must be integrated into the internal CCPA system regardless of its type and communication route.
The CHESTER platform uses the new Teltonika wireless tags that communicate with the CHESTER gateway over distances of up to several tens of meters via Bluetooth Low Energy. Aggregated data is transmitted via LPWAN technology NB-IoT or LTE-M to the HARDWARIO Cloud service. From there, it is transmitted to the Ubidots IoT application platform, adapted to the IFRAMIX graphical identity.
The advantage of this solution is its immediate, non-invasive deployability, which is due to the long lifetime of the device, which can operate for several years on battery power.
HARDWARIO CHESTER collects data from Teltonika sensors, which provide accurate information on ambient temperature and humidity. The monitoring results are displayed in clear graphs, allowing farmers to react quickly to problems. The data can be viewed via a web interface or smartphone app.
Aggregated sensor data, processed by the CHESTER gateway, is transmitted via LPWAN NB-IoT or LTE-M technology to the HARDWARIO Cloud service and then to the Ubidots IoT application platform, which corresponds to the IFRAMIX graphical identity.
The platform can easily be extended with additional sensors to measure other values important for optimal livestock welfare. HARDWARIO and IFRAMIX are in intensive discussions on other possible scenarios and their implementation.
